“After years of periodic pain in my right upper jaw that had been attributed to a sinus infection, Dr. Suway correctly diagnosed the problem as a mismatched bite.
"He replaced my original implants with a beautiful, creative design, which not only restored a pain-free bite, but minimized the expense because he was able to recycle much of the original hardware.

Effective TMJ Treatment
Relief from headaches and jaw pain with effective TMJ treatment
Dr. Suway can treat your TMJ difficulties and stop the pain.
If you are suffering from chronic headaches, jaw pain, teeth grinding or other symptoms, it may be because your teeth and jaw are misaligned. "TMJ" is the abbreviation for the temporomandibular joint syndrome or dysfunction. These joints connect the lower jaw to the skull and allow the jaw to move. If they are not aligned correctly, you may be suffering from TMJ.
Dr. Suway has successfully treated many patients suffering from TMJ and he can help you find relief too. Dr. Suway’s special TMJ exam includes the use of his TMJ Doppler unit, a special piece of equipment that is used to listen to the sounds that your jaw joints make. These sounds, such as popping, cracking or scratching mean different things and help Dr. Suway locate the cause and severity of your TMJ. Click here for more information.

TMJ diagnosis, treatment and relief
Dr. Suway uses hi-tech to diagnose and treat your TMJ.
When you come in with symptoms that could be caused by TMJ, Dr. Suway will perform a thorough examination to diagnose and treat your condition.
Dr. Suway’s special TMJ exam includes checking your bite, taking x-rays (if needed) and the use of his TMJ Doppler unit, a special piece of equipment that is used to listen to the sounds that your jaw joints make. These sounds, such as popping, cracking or scratching mean different things and help Dr. Suway locate the cause and severity of your TMJ.
Once Dr. Suway has pinpointed the problem, he will begin treatment to relieve your TMJ.
Because TMJ is frequently caused by a bad bite, Dr. Suway will first stabilize your bite. In many cases this can be done by using a customized bite guard, a temporary plastic device that fits over your teeth. Once the bite is stabilized, long-term management can begin.
There are many ways to keep your bite in proper alignment. Some permanent solutions may include; reshaping the enamel of the teeth, installing permanent bite guard devices, or installing reconstructive crowns. Dr. Suway has used all of these solutions to permanently correct the bite and relieve TMJ with success. He can find the solution that is right for you.
