Cleanings & Checkups

Dr. Suway will be happy to answer your questions during your checkup.
When you come in for a checkup, Dr. Suway will thoroughly examine your mouth for cavities, build-up, gum disease, or other problems. A thorough check for oral cancer is included in every check-up.
If you have questions or concerns about your teeth, you will be able to bring them up with Dr. Suway and get his advice. If you need additional treatment, Dr. Suway will explain all of your treatment options to you, and help you to decide on the best treatment possible for your situation.
Laser-assisted cavity detection
The traditional way to detect tooth decay was by touching the surface of the teeth with a metal probe. If the metal probe stuck, then there was a cavity. Using new laser technology, Dr. Suway can detect early tooth decay without taking the chance of missing even the smallest cavities.
If any corrections or further treatment is needed, it can usually be done during that same visit.

If fillings are needed, Dr. Suway numbs the area with a painless injection, then fills the cavity with a tooth-colored composite. The tooth-colored ceramic materials that we use are safe and extremely durable, and Dr. Suway is able to custom color the filling or crown to match your natural teeth.
